Why do I hate Barney the Purple Dinosaur?  Because the messages he 
sends kids are too simplified and idealistic... so much so that they 
mislead children entirely. "A stranger's just a friend you haven't met"? 
Give me a break! That message alone could cause many potential problems.
     I serve The Cause[tm] because I don't like seeing children misled 
into believing that the world is perfect... it's not. Nor is it always a 
friendly place. Not everyone you meet is trustworthy... or neccesarily 
your "friend." While children should not be taught to fear everyone, they 
should still be taught to be cautious. A pessimistic world-view, I know, 
but unfortunately, an accurate one, in my opinion.
